From Tripadvisor.com We stayed at Shaftesbury Kensington Hotel for 6 nights in March. It was located at a nice location, very close to the subway station (Earl's Court) which can take you anywhere in London, and there are various restaurants and pubs near the hotel. The hotel room was small, compared to some of the other hotels we stayed in various countries in Europe. Hotel staff was very nice. Overall experience is nice. From Tripadvisor.com Shaftesbury Kensington Hotel was an excellent value for the price. The location is great - Earl's Court is a convenient station and it was nice being able to take the Piccadilly Line directly from Heathrow. There are many restaurants in the area (everything from Chinese & Indian food to McDonald's, Subway & Pizza Hut). The staff at the hotel was friendly and quite helpful. We had our 2 year-old son with us, so we were given a "larger" room facing the street. It was not a palace, but we felt it was a nice size given the price we paid. The windows don't open very far, so cool from outside wasn't able to get in. If staying at the Hogarth, do it in the cooler months of the year, or pay extra for one of the "Executive Suites" that do have air conditioning and fridge.
